Expanding eConsult Capacity
Advance the implementation and payment of pediatric eConsult programs to improve access, efficiency, and provider collaboration. eConsults were selected as a priority because they represent a promising model to expand subspecialty reach, yet adoption in pediatrics has lagged in part due to later alignment of Medicaid payment compared with Medicare.
Key components include:
- Surveying and interviewing institutions to document pediatric eConsult models
- Identifying benefits, barriers, and implementation considerations
- Developing tools and shared insights to support scaling efforts
