Join Us for an Evening of Advocacy and the Arts!
It might seem that the stage is not the obvious place to enlighten audiences about the state of children’s health. From operations to opera, theaters are indeed used for enlightenment. The arts can be an effective teaching and advocacy tool, and the messages behind Suffs aligns with the same burgeoning rumblings for justice and equity in children’s well-being and health outcomes. When children suffer, families suffer, and women shoulder most of the burden of care, perpetuating the patriarchal systems highlighted in Suffs. Like the Suffragists, children have no vote and therefore no voice among policymakers. But we as pediatricians and child health advocates do. How can we take the lessons and inspiration of Suffs into our work advocating for kids? The performance will be followed by a discussion on how the themes of Suffs resonate with our shared mission to protect and promote the health and rights of children, ensuring their needs are heard even when they cannot speak for themselves.
Featuring the Tony Award-Winning Broadway Show Suffs

The Young Are at the Gates
Children’s health is a key issue in upcoming elections. Like the Suffragists of Suffs, children have no voice—but we do. Let’s advocate for their future.
