Building Pediatric Leadership for Payment Reform

Strengthen the capacity of pediatric departments to lead and sustain effective payment advocacy. This focus area equips Chairs to formalize advocacy infrastructure, build internal expertise, and engage strategically with institutional and state partners to advance child health payment reform.

Key components include:

  • Developing model Vice Chair, Associate Chair, or Director roles
  • Creating structured learning and peer exchange among advocacy leaders
  • Strengthening engagement with institutional Government Relations teams
  • Facilitating collaboration with state Medicaid offices and policymakers
  • Supporting departments in building and joining coalitions to advance child health payment
